Nature needs us! At Sustainable Monarch, we believe it takes a network of people, communities, businesses, and government to bring about real and lasting change, especially when the focus is saving the migration of an insect that crosses 3 countries and requires a specific diet! We protect monarch habitat through education, conservation, research and economic development. While monarchs are a great poster child, its habitat helps all wildlife and the Earth as a whole. Working WITH natural landscapes not only provides habitat, it strengthens communities through a common purpose. Nature Based Solutions work for people and the environment.
“In the end we will conserve only what we love; we will love only what we understand; and we will understand only what we are taught.”
A Better Way – Market Based Conservation
Golf with a Buzz Program
Determined to create something better, Sustainable Monarch was formed to help people see their natural landscapes with new eyes; one in which habitat can become an economic driver for community growth and prosperity.
Both monarch butterflies and milkweed, their host plant, thrive in biodiversity which is an extremely important asset in the future resiliency of the planet.
We believe that we have the power to change the landscapes for the better. We believe that cottage industries help fuel rural economies. As more habitat is conserved in the network, large volume product lines will be supplied with sustainably sourced milkweed materials.
Localized action for greater gains in environmental health and rural development. We believe imagination leads to innovation.
Join us as we explore the benefits and possibilities of doing more with less.

Give Monarchs and Community a Boost!
Monarch Flyway Network is supported by innovative and purpose driven companies and communities that see value in conservation. When milkweed is VALUED, we are able to protect critical habitat for Monarchs across the migration route. Everyone can do something! Whether a landowner or an activist, a teacher or business, we all play a role in saving the monarch migration from extinction. Our goal is to protect and restore healthy Monarch habitat and help people benefit from the natural lands they steward where they live, work and play.
